Water Management Strategies Presentation
Yavapai County Sustainable Planning Committee
Sept. 14, 2007

Barnabas Kane joined Catalyst Architecture Principal Matthew Ackerman to present water management strategies to the Yavapai County Sustainable Planning Committee, formed by the county Planning & Zoning Commission in late July. The committee, which is chaired by Ackerman, will look at ways to incorporate sustainability models and green building into the county planning process. The September presentation covered a range of topics from erosion control to harvesting rainwater, plus other important components in Kane's concept of Rehabitation. Initial suggestions for greening the codes will be made at a joint meeting of the commission and the county Board of Supervisors scheduled for Oct. 31.
